Discipleship and Adult Ministries Pastor - Brian Loging

Pastor Brian Loging began his ministry at the Ephrata Church of the Nazarene in June of 2007. The primary duty of the Pastor of Discipleship and Adult Ministry is to develop the spiritual depth of the adult members of the Ephrata Nazarene Church (ENC). He helps do this by developing and implementing a program designed to help the adult members of ENC to grow in his or her relationship with Jesus Christ. Brian is responsible for the current adult Sunday school/small groups program. He works with the other ministries on staff, helping design a strategic purpose for adult related events working towards a goal of spiritual growth in adults of all ages. He designs opportunities for the members of ENC to discover and use their ministerial gifts and talents in service to the Lord. This includes connecting our members to volunteer opportunities in ENC, the surrounding communities, and around the world.

Brian’s Testimony
Brian gave his life to Christ on a youth mission trip to Wymama, Florida in 1989. He says of the trip that “It was a last minute trip for me but I really believe that God had been planning it since the day I was born. I was saved and called into ministry within 3 days! I think it was because when God finally got my attention He wanted to make sure He had it fully.”

Things the Lord is Teaching Me
Brian believes the Lord is teaching him daily that “His love is everything I need.” Brian longs to strive for God’s love and to live in that love is the goal of His life.

Hosea 2:14-16: Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she will sing as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt. In that day, declares the LORD, you will call me - my husband - you will no longer call me - my master.

“A Word from the Discipleship and Adult Ministries Pastor”:
Brennan Manning says: “God not only loves me as I am, but also knows me as I am. Because of this I don’t need to apply spiritual cosmetics to make myself presentable to Him. I can accept my ownership of my poverty and powerlessness and neediness.”
“God is teaching me, slowly but surely that He loves me for who I am, died for who I am and when I truly learn to live in this love I will truly learn to live, and this life will be given to God daily out of humble thankfulness to the One who has loved me so greatly.”
