Ephrata Church of the Nazarene is sponsoring an Upwards Soccer. It is an indoor soccer league, it involves much more than the sport itself. Even if you go to a church elsewhere, or you don't go anywhere, we consider your family now a part of our church. This time together is a spiritual time. It is a time to honor and learn about God. It is a time to celebrate and watch your children grow, gain confidence, and develop spirituality.

Here are some things that make this program different:

• Besides time spent on skill and the sport, we will devote time during practice and matches learning and sharing who Christ is.


• We have devotions and time for families to spend together through our devotional.


• We have several activities that will involve the whole family.


• We want your family to be part of our prayers. If you or your family have requests for prayer or are in need of our church services, we want to be made aware of this. We have a prayer/need request system in place for you to use.


• There is no championship; no scores will be reported to the paper. There are no standings. We will learn about competition, sportsmanship, and respect. It is a time for all to celebrate everyone involved.


• When teams and coaches are set, your child will get a package of their uniform and other materials.

Upwards Soccer is for children ages 4 years old through 6th grade.

If anyone has younger children, we are possibly looking at having some fun kick around times. We all know the little kids want to get out there and kick the ball around like their big brother or sister. If we have a sizable response, we may try to implement a few of these days (for no additional fee) during the course of the program.

Ephrata Nazarene Upwards Soccer League Details

• Early Registration Deadline is December 17th. Cost is $50. Add $10 after the 17th.


• Last day to register is December 31st.


• Evaluations are Dec. 12 or 14 from 6 to 8 or Dec. 16th from 9 to 12:30.


• First Practice begins Monday, January 15th.


• First Game is Saturday Jan. 20th.


• You can register at any evaluation or sign up at the church office between the hours of 8.30 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Monday – Friday.

More information will be made available on practice and game nights once we have a better idea on how many children registered.
